Set in the Prohibition era in Chicago, Some Like It Hot features two musicians Joe and Jerry wh unfortunately witnessed a mob hit. Seeing something they were not supposed to see, these two dudes became targets as well. Now, their only chance for survival is to get out of town. But that’s not good enough to escape their dire fates so Joe and Jerry dress up as women and go by the names Josephine and Daphne and join an all female band to further hide themselves from the mob. When all seems well, Joe and Jerry come across another challenge, both become obsessed with the band’s lead singer Sugar and compete for her attention. This brilliant stage adaptation of Some Like It Hot opened on Broadway in 2022. The storyline was written by multi award-winning playwright Matthew Lopez and New York Times Best selling writer Amber Ruffin. Original music and lyrics were created by Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer, Marc Shaiman and Scott Whitmann, while two time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw led the production. The musical also brought in some of the most unprecedented creative talents in the world of theater, including Tony Award winning designers Scott Pask on scenic design, Gregg Barnes on costume design, Natasha Katz on lighting design, Brian Ronan on sound design. This fantastic rendition of the classic film is deemed the most awarded musical of 2023 with four Tony Awards, eight Drama Desk Awards, a Drama League Award, five Outer Critic Circle Awards, and Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album. 

This 2024, the touring production brings in outstanding talents, including Matt Loehr as Joe/Josephine, Tavis Kordell as Jerry/Daphne, and Leandra Ellis-Gaston as Sugar.
