Beauty and the Beast at Orpheum Theatre Minneapolis

Beauty and The Beast, the musical, premiered on Broadway back in 1994. There's no reason to try and hide this, it was forgotten because of the success of the Lion King. Over the years, there have been different attempts to take the story back into the mainstream theater scene. After a great run in London's West End, and a long tour of Australia, this revival is going on a US tour. One of the shows will luckily be in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Thursday 7th August 2025.

In other iterations of the play, the backgrounds and the colors of the costumes were both kind of dark. This brought a lot of emphasis on The Beast character. This current production is going in a completely different direction. The emphasis is more on Belle, as it the story demands. This time around, the audience is greeted with beautifully designed sets and colorful costumes that light up the stage. When you pair that with the jolly soundtrack, you can see why both the British and Australian theater goers flocked to this revival. Sorry for the spoilers, but the magnificent entrance that Belle's character and the different members of her French village make, provide the perfect counterpart to The Beast's world. What happened in both the UK and Australia was that crowds were super amazed by this point in the show. Things likely won't be any different this evening at Orpheum Theatre and the entire US tour for that matter. Gaston's entrance and musical performance tend to be fan favorites. It's truly Belle that the story revolves around though, and for this US Tour they've picked a great actress for the role. By the end of the show, you'll be singing and dancing as you waltz out of Orpheum Theatre.

You know that for these events, it's essential to pick the right seats. They are going to dictate the perspective that you have of what's happening on stage. If you're a little bit off to the side, you could have a hard time seeing everything that's taking place on the other end.
