Inspired by his father’s influence, introducing him to artists such as Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton, Joe Bonamassa started playing guitar aged four, displaying instant prodigal talent. By the time he was 12, he had his own band, called Smokin' Joe Bonamassa, which would play various cities at weekends (when Joe wasn’t at school). He went on to open for none other than blues legend B.B King, drawing huge worldwide attention to his abilities, which he then took to play with other artists including Eric Clapton, many of whom had inspired him as a child to pick up the guitar in the first place!
