When a generous serving of one of the world’s pioneering acts is served up, you go, and you gobble it all up, even the crumbs.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and Düsseldorf’s finest, Kraftwerk, that practically created the blueprints for electronic music, have much reason to celebrate. What started out as free-form experimental rock with the use of conventional musical instruments in 1970 was carefully molded, refined, and polished into what hit the world in 1974 when they released their fourth studio album, ‘Autobahn’. The innovative use of synthesizers, drum machines, and vocoders, among others, exploded like TNT in a world ready for something new, resulting in the album peaking on the charts.

Kraftwerk released eleven studio albums to date, with huge international hits such as ‘Autobahn’, ‘Radioactivity’, ‘The Robots’, ‘Pocket Calculator’, and ‘Computer Love’, with their massive influences evident on many modern groups, from Coldplay and Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD) to Depeche Mode and The Prodigy. In the words of Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore: “For anyone of our generation involved in electronic music, Kraftwerk were the godfathers.”

It’s undeniable: Kraftwerk are absolute masters of their craft, and the proof is in the accolades. To date, they have received three Grammy Award nominations and won three Grammy Awards, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and a Grammy Awards Hall of Fame induction.

When it comes to Kraftwerk live in action, currently comprising original co-founding member Ralf Hütter, Fritz Hilpert, Henning Schmitz, and Falk Grieffenhagen, they are incomparable. It’s all the ‘kling und klang’ you’d expect from incredibly innovative electronic music, the crisp and crystal-clear sounds that push sonic possibilities, visual engagement like you’ve never experienced before, and at the core of it all – sound design that is second to none.

In a word, the Orpheum Theatre Minneapolis, with its world-renowned stage, state-of-the-art stage technologies, and superb acoustics, is perfect for pioneers such as Kraftwerk to showcase everything from the showstopping ‘Trans-Europe Express’ and meditative ‘Kometenmelodie’ to the unnerving, yet placidly nocturnal ‘Mitternacht’. The venue boasts seats for up to 2,600 music lovers spread across five seating sections, all with fantastic views of the stage.

So, have you gotten your tickets to the most mind-blowing event of the year yet?
