The majority of folks are familiar with the story of Life of Pi through the movie. Martel actually helped with the playwright for this musical along with premier theater writer Lolita Chakrabarti. It's mainly about Pi's journey for actual survival, while trying not to lose his mind in the process. This allows the story to move from his conscious to his subconscious mind. The play is relatively recent; the first-ever official performance took place in 2019.
