Orpheum Theatre
Four of the best performers in the history of Mexican Regional Music are joining forces once again for this Palomazo Norteño show! Lalo Mora, Eliseo Robles, Rosendo Cantú, and Raúl Hernández have been hitting up different US cities for years now. Each of them brings an extensive music library to this show. It makes trying to guess the set list for this Friday, the 13th, night at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis quite a tall task.
There's nothing scary about this show, so no worries there. It's actually one of the best summer plans that you can make, since this Friday, the 13th, is taking place in June. You can be right next to the stage singing along to "El Rey de Mil Coronas." Lalo Mora knows he's getting up there in age and loves to joke about it with fans, but he and the rest of the crew can still sing with the best of them. Palomazo Norteño is an event that feels like you're out and about with your childhood heroes for a lot of people. It's not necessarily the same feeling that you get with any other performer in their 70s who is still doing their thing. The main difference with this show is the closeness that fans feel with Lalo Mora, Eliseo Robles, Rosendo Cantú, and Raúl Hernández. It's almost like you're watching your uncles get up and sing at a family outing. The main difference here is it's the guys who actually sing "Aguanta Corazon" and "El Rey de Mil Coronas." Trying to guess the set list for this night's a rough bet, by the way. Most of the time, they're singing off the cuff whatever the audience wants.
Another element that helps build that closeness with the audience is the fact that these guys are up there with their red solo cups, sipping whiskey and tequila. Sure, many performers from other genres are doing the same, but they tend to be more discrete about those affairs. The 70-year-olds that makeup Palomazo Norteño really do not give you-know-what about anything at this point. That's in large part why they have this rapport with the audience. It's four guys drinking up and singing hits to an audience that's gonna love them no matter what. It makes for an amazing night that you won't soon forget!
Most people would gravitate to seats close to the stage for an event like this. Keep in mind, though, that pit tickets won't be made available. There's going to be some distance between the front rows and the performers. Knowing this, it might be a good idea to look for a spot that provides more legroom to get up and dance. Having a seat that's close to the bar could be important for some. You get thirsty watching these guys on stage! These spots may run out quickly, so click the get tickets button to save your seats.
