The Band's Visit at Orpheum Theatre Minneapolis

The Band’s Visit is a stage musical with music and lyrics by David Yazbek and a book by Itamar Moses. It is also based on the 2007 Israeli film – The Band's Visit.

In November 2017, the musical opened on Broadway at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Since then, it has received critical acclaim for its wondrous and ingenious setting.

Sypnosis:
Dina, a local cafe owner in a rather normal Israeli desert town, have lost all hopes and dreams that she had as a teenager. One day, something different happened. She and her townpeople took in a band of musicians from Egypt who were lost. They ignited the passion of the town and turn the sleepy town into a completely different place.

Humanity seems to be restored again with this simple act of kindness shown and in return, the kindhearted was returned some joy in their lives.

The Band's Visit is one of four musicals in Broadway history to win the unofficial "Big Six" Tony Awards, which include Best Musical, Best Book, Best Score, Best Actor in a Musical, Best Actress in a Musical, and Best Direction of a Musical. Additionally, this musical has won the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
